X-mas Double Date: Borzyk + Alexandre // Ottervanger + de Joode

X-mas Double Date: Borzyk + Alexandre // Ottervanger + de Joode

Double dating around the end of the year, just before the Christmas break? Do it at Walter, with a double bill of two brand-new duos.

Fulco Ottervanger writes to Walter in response to a newsletter.
That he’s up for it. Curious. And wishing us all the best.
As cheeky as ever, Walter writes back.
How on earth is it possible, Fulco? That you haven’t played at Walter a single time since 2018?
As cheeky as ever, Fulco replies.
That he’s free. And that he would love – really, truly love – to bring along Wilbert de Joode. They share a passion for strings, texture, and tension. They listen sharply to whatever emerges. They sculpt, explore, memorise, and throw it back. Edge-of-your-seat music!

Well then, Fulco, Walter’s up for it. He’s curious. And he wishes you the best of luck!
And he throws you into a double bill double date with two musicians who, in 2025, have brought immense colour, energy, and connection to the Brussels impro scene. Portuguese rising star Diogo Alexandre moved to Brussels two years ago and quickly found himself at the centre of the alternative scene. A connecting figure, with a voice, with courage, with talent. The same goes for saxophonist Alejandra Borzyk. They recently launched the new quartet TREMOR with Adèle Viret on cello and Benoît Quentin on double bass. Tonight, they’re double dating in duo.
