Norway’s Sonic Architects of Nu-Jazz
Formed in the mid-90s, Jaga Jazzist is a trailblazing Norwegian collective known for shaping the future of instrumental jazz. Blending the creative energies of around ten musicians — all involved in diverse, forward-thinking projects — the band is anchored by the three Horntveth brothers, who have led the project since its inception. Their music, purely instrumental, merges elements of jazz, progressive rock, electronica and post-rock, weaving lush, evolving soundscapes. Since signing to the renowned Ninja Tune label in 2002, Jaga Jazzist has become a cornerstone of modern Nu-Jazz, continually evolving while staying true to its adventurous collective spirit.
