Pauline Leblond Double Quartet invites

Trumpeter and composer Pauline Leblond brings together two musical worlds that rarely meet: the expressive freedom of jazz and the refined architecture of baroque music. At the head of her Double Quartet, she merges a string quartet with a jazz quartet to create a sound that is both sophisticated and emotionally rich.

Through original compositions and inspired arrangements, she weaves connections between fugue and improvisation, swing and counterpoint, baroque dance and contemporary textures. Her album Suite de Danses (2020) captures this singular approach—poetic, bold, and deeply musical.

In an expanded version of the ensemble, Pauline Leblond Double Quartet invites Mathieu Najean (saxes, clarinet, bassoon) and Timothé le Maire (trombone) to explore broader soundscapes. This special formation will present a new album in 2025 entitled L’oubli—a contemplative and vibrant exploration of oblivion.

A project that bridges centuries and timbres, inviting audiences on a timeless journey where tradition meets invention.
