Hepcats

A brand new project, HEPCATS uses the word hep instead of hip, referring back to 'the old days' when it was hep to be hip indeed - and when a piano trio consisted of piano, double bass, and - guitar!

The guitar provided the swingtrio with a lighter sound, a steady pulse, and on occasion an extra melodic solo voice, thus bringing an entirely different texture to the trio concept.

And although this setting is definitely not old school only, with Hepcats, we love to revisit old swingtime standards - the tunes no one plays but actually everyone likes... Lover, Boulevard of Broken Dreams, Moonglow, Jitterbug Waltz, Back Home Again In Indiana, Easy Street... All arrangements are written especiallyfor this group by Arne.

As an added attraction, Hepcats adds - on special occasions only! - Kim Versteynen to handle some vocals...
