Franco Piccinno Trio

The Franco Piccinno Trio is a group that came together in Barcelona when Franco Piccinno and Gaëtan Casteels met more than 15 years ago. Piccinno is originaly from Naples and lives between Rome and Barcelona, having previously lived in London and Paris. Casteels returned to Brussels in 2012 after several years in Barcelona. For this concert at Music Village, they reunite with Pierre Hurty, who lives between Paris and Brussels. Although he has won several awards and competitions, Franco puts his flamboyant technique and brilliant improvisational skills solely at the service of the music: no showing off, only the music and the dialogue between the musicians counts. These three travelers offer a repertoire based mainly on standards, punctuated by a few original compositions. A concert not to be missed for fans of the Keith Jarrett or Brad Meldhau trios!
