Surrounded by his musicians, Filip Jordens delivers a stunning tribute to the legendary Jacques Brel, literally and masterfully embodying the enfant terrible of French chanson on his preferred stage : the live performance. This is neither an imitation nor an adaptation ; Filip Jordens prefers to speak of it as a « restoration » respecting the original score. The result of this work is remarkably effective : the magic happens from the very first song, and the Brelian emotion is palpable. The Belgian actor’s talent lies in bringing Brel to life on stage, staying as close to the original as possible.
