Olivier is a harmonica player, multi-instrumentalist, and composer from Ghent, Belgium. He began his musical journey in the local blues scene, developing his harmonica skills at jam sessions before studying jazz at the Jazzstudio in Antwerp and the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. There, he became part of a vibrant community of musicians who continue to inspire and collaborate with him today.
Playing both chromatic and diatonic harmonica, Olivier moves easily between jazz, blues, folk, pop, rock, and world music. Over the years, he has contributed to more than twenty albums and several film and television projects. He has worked with artists including Absynthe Minded, Sylvie Kreusch, Roland Van Campenhout, Nathalie Loriers, Peter Hertmans, Wajdi Riahi, and Bart Vervaeck.
With his group Tamala, Olivier explores the meeting points between Senegalese tradition, Western music, and improvisation.
Back home in Ghent, he hosts monthly sessions at Missy Sippy, creating space for open musical exchange and spontaneous collaborations.
