Two years later he obtained 1st prize for jazz-piano.
In '92, in Maastricht, he received "a special citation for outstanding musicianship" awarded by the International Association of Jazz Educators.
In '94 he obtained, with his quartet, the Prix Nicolas Dor, performing at the Liège festival.
Ernest VRANCKX worked together with Kenny WHEELER, John RUOCCO, Bert JORIS and is currently part of the Chris JORIS Experience quintet.
He toured in jazz clubs around the Benelux countries, France, Germany and Sweden.
His festivals appearances include
