Jonas Nieuwejaers

I am a Belgian jazz trumpeter and composer. At a young age I was inspired by Miles Davis which made me decide to study jazz. I did my bachelor's degree at Codarts and am currently studying at jazzCampus in Basel.

I have contributed to many projects with different styles and people but what is the most dear to me is GroundPlay. A trio based on the concept of Ron Miles. In trio With drummer Lowie Pallemaerts and Guitarist Leonardo Francheschini we developed my compositions into our own way of playing and collectively improvising. After almost 2 years of making music in group it is time to go beyond.
