Although Boris Schmidt has always composed music and produced some of his tracks within the bands where he plays as a sideman, it was in 2016 that he formed his own quartet. This project brings together musicians with whom he has developed a deep connection through other collaborations.The original quartet (saxophone, guitar, double bass, and drums) has now expanded to include piano and vocals.Entering Boris Schmidt’s musical world means stepping into a velvet setting where every note is light, subtle, round, and complete. Behind a nonchalance that is merely apparent, a profound rigor and masterfully balanced precision quickly unfold, giving the whole experience a sense of harmony and quiet strength.
