Virginie Daïdé 4tet (F) + Jazz Diggers (F) en 1ère partie

The tenor saxophone can sometimes seem like a powerful, almost combative instrument mainly associated with male players. Virginie Daïdé, however, has made it her instrument of choice, bringing warmth and delicacy to its sound without ever becoming overly sentimental.

She has firmly established herself on the French jazz scene and is now recognised for her elegant style, skilfully blending hard bop, modal harmonies and contemporary influences through highly personal original compositions.

Like many artists, Virginie made use of the Covid period – if “made use of” is really the right expression… – to compose a wealth of new material. This resulted in two albums, Moods and While We’re Strollin’, released in 2023 and 2025 respectively. Both received critical acclaim, and she and her musicians will bring this music to the stage of our club.

A discovery for many? That’s exactly what Open Music Jazz Club is all about!

Opening the evening will be Jazz Diggers, a quartet from Lille bringing an invigorating and energetic brand of jazz. There is a wealth of musical talent in our region, and local artists will always be welcome at Open-Music!
