80 jaar Marc Copland (VS) met Robin Verheyen (try-out)

Pianist Marc Copland and saxophonist Robin Verheyen share a musical partnership rooted in subtlety, trust, and deep listening. Since first collaborating in New York in 2012, they have developed a unique duo language - lyrical, exploratory, and rich in harmonic nuance - while also working together in larger ensemble settings.

Their past collaborations include the albums Someday (2022) and Dreaming (2025) by the Marc Copland Quartet, and appearances in each other’s projects, such as Blues, Reds and Other Songs for Madonna (2025), reflecting a long-standing artistic dialogue that continues to evolve.

In 2027, they will release a new duo album, returning to the intimacy of piano and saxophone. This will be followed by an international tour in 2028, celebrating Marc Copland’s 80th birthday and honoring a major figure in modern jazz whose career spans more than four decades.

Together, Copland and Verheyen create music that is at once refined and spontaneous, where every note emerges from a shared sense of space, sound, and imagination.
