More than five years after *Suspended*, the third album by his electrifying band URBEX, Antoine returns to jazz as a bandleader with a brand-new quartet, much to our delight!

Neither Next.Ape, whose tracks blur the boundaries between genres, nor VAAGUE, his cutting-edge solo electro project, have taken him away from his first love. On the contrary: stepping out of his comfort zone has stimulated his creativity more than ever. Thanks to the discoveries and encounters fostered by this deliberate blending of genres, he has taken the time to let ideas come to him and mature for this quartet.

You’ll be captivated by the fiery guitar and effects pedals of Jesse Van Ruller, who weaves purring bass lines beneath his galloping arpeggios, shifting between pulsating lines and reassuring chords. You’ll be swept away by Antoine Pierre’s enthusiastic drumming, punctuated by almost cubist rhythmic patterns that are his trademark. You’ll feel your wings sprouting to the subtle vibrato of Ketija Ringa Karahona’s flute, and fins emerging to the aquatic sound—both powerful and light—of Bo van Der Werf’s baritone saxophone…

The quartet invites listeners on a journey through a landscape where the four elements converge: a dazzling sunset, feet in the sea, hair blowing in the wind, soft sand between the toes and salt crystallising on the skin. The compositions echo the sunny Los Angeles music scene, recalling the joyful and moving eccentricities of albums by Pino Palladino, Sam Wilkes, Genevieve Artadi, Blake Mills and Louis Cole. With a brief detour via Thelonious Monk’s living room and a distant nod to Olivier Messiaen…
