NOVA feat. Aaron Parks & Jeff Ballard

NOVA is an international quintet at the crossroads of modern and contemporary jazz, shaped over time by Félix Zurstrassen alongside some of the most remarkable musicians of their generation. The Belgian bassist brilliantly combines the sophistication of his music with a clear, collective and generous experience, carried by extraordinary improvisers. At his side are two long-time partners: Franco-Brazilian Nelson Veras, one of the most unique guitarists in contemporary jazz, and Ben van Gelder, a Dutch saxophonist internationally regarded as a reference in alto saxophone. Two major figures in American jazz have been specially invited to join the group: Aaron Parks, a world-renowned pianist of extraordinary lyricism, and Jeff Ballard, a monumental drummer and privileged accompanist to legends such as Chick Corea, Pat Metheny, Brad Mehldau, Joshua Redman and Ray Charles. These five musicians met for the first time on stage in May 2024 at the Like A Jazz Machine (LUX) international festival. Inspired by this fascinating experience, Félix will reunite this prestigious quintet in March 2026 for a five-concert tour across Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands.
