With his new quintet, Seba Colson shows his love for the jazz tradition, especially bop and hard bop. Another special feature is the cross-generational line-up, which includes none other than the legendary 78-year-old Dutch drummer Eric Ineke. Other members of the band include the young Frenchman Yo Hes, who was honoured at the Dinant Jazz Festival in 2024, the young Finn Jonas Metsäkylä and the Dutchman Jos Machtel.
Together they form an energetic quintet that plays Colson's own music, supplemented with existing pieces from the beloved bop repertoire. Expect a concert that comes straight from the heart, with influences from jazz greats such as Dexter Gordon, Lee Morgan, Freddie Hubbard, Wes Montgomery, Art Blakey, Charlie Parker and Cannonball Adderley.
