Franco Piccinno, originally from Naples, lives between Rome and Barcelona after having lived in London and Paris. Migrations Trio is a group that came about when Franco Piccinno and Gaëtan Casteels met in Barcelona some fifteen years ago. Gaëtan Casteels was living in Barcelona at the time. After returning to Belgium, they lost touch until 2023, when Gaëtan went to play in Barcelona with his band. Joined this time by Matteo De Vito, another Italian, Migrations Trio offers a reinterpretation of jazz standards and a selection of their own compositions. For fans of ECM, Brad Meldhau, Chick Corea, or contemporary music, which has greatly influenced Franco Piccinno. Having won several competitions and awards, he nevertheless puts his flamboyant technique and brilliant improvisational skills solely at the service of music: no showing off or showing off, only the music and the dialogue with the musicians matter. Another journey, in a way, but this time a musical one."
