John Snauwaert feat Nilson Matta

Nilson Matta, born in Sao Paulo, won a Grammy Award with Joe Henderson. He was immersed in Brazilian rhythms from an early age and is known on the New York jazz scene as an innovator of this music. He has been based in New York since the late 1980s, but continues to perform regularly in Brazil and around the world with Trio Da Paz.

Saxophonist John Snauwaert has also visited the land of samba several times and has been collaborating for six years on various projects with bassist Nilson Matta, who introduced him to Brazilian music. He was invited by New Yorkers to teach in New York and Rio de Janeiro as part of an international Sambe Meets Jazz workshop.
