The exceptional guitar solo inspired by the double album "solo-W-!" by Belgian guitarist Wynand Mawet joyfully blends the vibrant colors of tango nuevo, the subtleties of impressionism, and the resonances of traditional music from around the world.
You’ll hear works by renowned composers, personal transcriptions and improvisations, classical guitar, jazz guitar—a rich anthology showcasing the immense diversity of this universal instrument, arguably the most widespread in the world.
On classical guitar, you’ll discover four of today’s most inventive contemporary composers for the instrument, in 21st-century works influenced by Brazilian music and traditional Japanese sounds.
On jazz guitar, the program features exclusively transcriptions of 20th-century works, including Astor Piazzolla’s Tango Nuevo, jazz standards, and impressionist music.
