Drummer Philippe Soirat has put his knowledge of swing and his keen ear at the service of numerous soloists on the French and international scene, such as Barney Wilen, Lee Konitz, Lionel and Stéphane Belmondo, Lou Donaldson, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Alain Jean-Marie, Ray Brown, Laurent de Wilde, Johnny Griffin, Hervé Sellin, Mark Turner, Phil Woods, and Steve Grossman.
In 2015, he embarked on a new adventure: his own band. This, with first-class musicians: David Prez (ts), Vincent Bourgeyx (p), and Yoni Zelnik (b). In the three albums released to date, he continues the tradition of improvisation and innovation with compositions by the band members and by reconfiguring the rhythms of some modern jazz standards to offer a new perspective through subtle shifts. Four talents at the service of free and sophisticated music that bridges tradition and modernity.
