The Philip Glass Ensemble (PGE), founded in 1968 by Philip Glass, brings together the core interpreters of his work. Initially conceived as a musical laboratory, the ensemble developed a new performance practice capable of meeting the innovative demands of Glass’s compositions. For over fifty years, the PGE has performed on the world’s most prestigious stages and remains today the leading ambassador of Glass’s music, actively passing it on to new generations. The ensemble is renowned for its interpretations of iconic works such as Music in Twelve Parts, Einstein on the Beach, and the celebrated soundtracks of Godfrey Reggio’s Qatsi trilogy.
