NICOLAS CHKIFI & DAVE REMPIS duo + JULIEN TASSIN solo

Dave Rempis and Nicolas Chkifi met during a tour last April with Spectral; the excellent trio of American saxophonists including Larry Ochs, Darren Johnston and Dave Rempis joining the brilliant trio of Marta Warelis, Hugo Antunes and Nicolas Chkifi.

After this successful collaboration, Dave Rempis and Nico Chkifi embark on a new exciting duo exploring the limits of their instrument and themselves by developing their common interest in, among other things, West African music and improvisation.

Dave Rempis is one of the most renowned saxophonists in Chicago and the improvised scene in the United States. He develops a powerful sound, a phenomenal technique, an infectious joy of being on stage.

Nico Chkifi is a versatile and very musical drummer leading Fnussjen the quartet for which he composes. We could also see him on stage with SuperNova and Laniakea alongside musicians such as John Dikeman, Seppe Gebruers, Hugo Antunes, Jeroen Van Herzeele, Jozef Dumoulin, etc.
