Few clubs can boast a house orchestra. The Lokerse Jazzklub has two. Boss Ross was founded in 1992 by three musicians from that other resident orchestra, The N.O. Train Jazzband, with the idea of playing more swing songs. The group quickly evolved into a post-bop repertoire. Currently, songs by Toots Thielemans, Dizzy Gillespie, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Horace Silver, Philip Catherine and Herbie Hancock are on their setlist. Boss Ross closes the regular concert season and puts Duke Ellington in the spotlight for the occasion.
