Since Thurston Moore founded Sonic Youth in 1981, he has remained a prominent member of the alternative rock scene. The guitarist and composer feels equally comfortable playing acoustic songs as free improvisation, metal or noise. In his musical adventures he collaborated with Yoko Ono, John Zorn, Bobby Gillespie, David Toop, Cecil Taylor, among others. With his Thurston Moore Group he brings more optimistic music than in his Sonic Youth days, seamlessly fusing his sense of experimental music with accessible pop melodies. Longplayer ‘By The Fire' with its mix of layered rock and poetry is a delightful record with which Thurston Moore delivered another timeless masterpiece.
