RVB quartet
RVB Quartet, the band of guitar player Rebekka Van Bockstal is merging rock and jazz music where improvisation and composition continuously challenge and reinforce one another. The band released their first album "Crossing Dimensions" in 2018. This debut was warmly received by, among others, jazz mozaïek; “The first roll of the RVB Quartet is literally and figuratively a colorful album. ... Every listening to Crossing Dimensions also picks a different favorite. A strong debut."
The debut album also gave the young band its first radio time at Klara and others. Since 2019 the quartet has been introducing its new band members: Otto Kint (also known from Otto Kintet, Leán, Keith Canvas) on double bass and Elias Storme (also known from Eclectiv) on tenor and alto sax provide the band with a new approach in which grooves are merged with sweet melodies. Calmness and space are aspects that drive the new quartet into a new sound. In 2022 'Operation Dinner Out' the second album of the band was released on W.E.R.F. Records
In 2025 the band will release a third album 'Hamabiwa'. The syllabic word Hamabiwa represents the names of the first-born children from each of the band members’ households. These little ones inspired the themes woven throughout the album. While our children give us endless energy, they also take some of it away — which is why drummer Marius Couvreur will step aside from the quartet. Jesse Dockx will be joining the band, bringing a fresh perspective to the release concerts.
