Jazz & More: Marc Bienfait

Marc Bienfait started his career as a drummer with a young Sal La Rocca. Together, they accompanied the pillars of the Liège scene at the time (Jacques Pelzer, Jean Linsman, Robert Grahame...) and, already, some guests like the American guitarist John Thomas.

At the turn of the 80's and 90's, he participated in the creation of the non-profit organization Jazz in Time and with La Rocca, he coordinated in particular the jazz Mondays of the Luna, where most of the young Belgian jazzmen would appear. Later, as a tenant of the late Jacques Pelzer's house, he organized various jams in which his musical partners of the time (David Timsit, Laurent Meunier, Alain Frey...) participated. It is there, in this house full of blue ghosts that in 2005, Marc opens with a few passionate friends the Jacques Pelzer Jazz Club which will soon become one of the places impossible to circumvent of the Belgian scene, particularly appreciated by the musicians. We would forget that Marc is and remains a talented drummer, as he regularly reminds us during jams and as the last Jazz and More of the season will remind us. On the program? A surprise!
